My Process
Basil Babe is a mother-and-daughter ran dumpling shop. Designing for this website was fun because the owner, Thai, allowed me to expand on a simple brand idea she had. With the ideas she gave me, I was able to create an entire identity and give her a color palette that she could use not only on her website, but on social media as well.
Basil Babe’s logo is very rounded and I wanted to keep that same feeling throughout the website. I stuck with circles and rounded edges for most elements — only broken up by the occasional straight edge. To make the design a bit more interesting, I decided to animate the rounded shapes in the header using CSS animations.
