Froyo Bar

I originally clicked on Froyo Bar because the icon was pretty and because I love Froyo. This game is all about time management and strategy. You own a froyo bar and you have to fufill the customer’s orders before they get impatient. I enjoyed all the steps you had to go through to make the froyo (mixing it, picking the bowl size, picking the toppings, etc) and the faster you went the better the tips you got. The more tips you got, the more money you had to upgrade your equipment. It made the game very exciting and gave you incentive to keep playing. With that being said, there are things that could be improved about Froyo Bar as well. The interface was a bit confusing at times. I often times clicked on the things that I thought were buttons with the overall button selection process being laggy.

Emily's New Beginning

Emily’s New Beginning immediately reminded me of Diner Dash, which was a game I really enjoyed to play. The instructions and objectives are exactly the same. What I really enjoyed about this game was the little story aspect it had. You played as Emily, a new mother who reopens her restaurant after having it closed due to her daughter being born. There’s cute dialogue as you progress through the game that allows you to learn about Emily’s life as her husband and old friends appear. However, as you progressed the game’s difficulty suddenly jumped. There was no gradual change and I immediately closed out of the game after I felt it got too hard to play.

Basket & Ball

This is the only jump and run game I played because it’s the only one that caught my attention. I’m a fan of basketball and in this game you are a basketball trying to get across numerous obstacles to land in the basket. I thought the levels were cleverly designed. There were three stars scattered throughout each level, so if you could collect those stars and land in the basket you would get the highest score. The game mechanics could use a little improvement, though. For example, to bounce the basketball you had to press the spacebar. If you wanted to get over taller obstacles, you had to press the spacebar repeatedly to build up momentum. It’d be a choppy process and I would have to do it several times for it work correctly.
